For now I've decided to pivot slightly from my corner version to just a normal flat wall version. To get the corner piece how I want is going to use more plastic than I am willing to commit right now as I still want to improve the tang and lock pins. The primary problem being when the collar is held too far into the corner, there is not enough room for shoulders.
While I was experimenting with the pieces I have printed already just standing up against the flat wall, the flat wall bracket will use very little plastic (in comparison) so it will be better while I iterate the design. Meaning I can print more of them while messing with the rest of the design before I have to get more material.
Next up the pins, switched back to silver since that spool is so low and these parts are so tiny. They turned out well.
In the excitement of being "almost done", dropped the front half of the collar on the 3D printer having forgot to do a good number of things to it first. Resulted in a part that fit poorly and then broke when I tried too hard. Made the pins too thick such that their holes do not have enough material around them. Will have to make that stronger.
However I think I've seen enough now to redesign everything again having learned things. Time to make this look more cool.
